I use bookcrossing primarily as a way to pass on small paperbacks that I'm done with, but I also occasionally pick up cheap copies of favorite books just for the sake of releasing them and introducing them to others.

If one of my books comes into your hands (whether directly from me, from another BookCrosser, or from a chance discovery in some public place), it's yours. Release it "in the wild" . . . give it to a friend . . . donate it to a charity shop or book sale . . . sell it on EBay . . . put it on your shelf . . . use it to level the dining room table. Anything that makes you happy (short of using it for kindling) is cool with me.
