Extended Profile
Someone wrote that it seems I just put my books in storage, and that I should go buy books to replace the ones I can't locate. Well, for the record, no, I did not do that. If I had the money to replace books, I'd replace clothes and furniture first.
I really don't want to talk about what happened, though I'm sure some do mean well. As I've stated before, I'm sorry this happened (more sorry than you'll ever know) but there's nothing I can do.
Also, since I do not any longer have access to a computer other than the library's, I'm shutting off my pm's. Seems silly to have someone PM me, and then think I'm ignoring them when I don't answer IMMEDIATELY.
Yes, I'm probably a little crabby right now, and I apologize for that, but I don't have time or inclination to explain... and explain would not change the fact that I can not participate.
I'm letting my previous message stand, even though it didn't do much good.
Best of Book Crossing to you all, and may life not kick you, at least not too hard!
An excerpt from a recent PM that helps explain my current situation:
I truly wish I could trade with you! As it is, all my neatly arranged-by-catagory boxes got dumped into several larger boxes and then put in storage. This was done to "help" me by well-intended people who had no business messing with my stuff. Long stupid miserable story >:-( I've got access to one box right now, and am going thru it bit by bit. I don't even know which ones are "mine" and which are suppose to be going out in a book box!!!!!!!! This horrifies me to know end, because I know for a fact I'm holding up and probably killing at least two bookboxes ***cry*** In any case, I have no idea where any particular book is, and it will probably remain that way for quite some time.
I'm actually going to post this message on my profile, so I don't get anyone else's hopes up.
Thanks for writing, and I hope that in the (distant?) future we can try trading again.
I am into Star Trek, historical fiction, biographies, gardening, and *easy* crafts. I'm now also into mystery/thrillers, and even horror!
Due to financial circumstances, I really can't ship internationally, not even to Canada. I really hate to have to say that. :o(
HOWEVER: Some people with APO/FPO addresses have volunteered in the past to act as a go-between for international shipping. If you can work it out that way, I will happily ship your book to an APO/FPO address for forwarding.
For safe keeping:
My RABCK rules
1. Check out my shelf, read the journal entries. Any book in my possession listed as AVL or TBR is up for grabs.
2. REPLY to this post, put the title of your wish in the subject line. This helps everyone know what has already been claimed. I'm a stickler on this one, so please do post :o)
3. PM me with your wish and your address. I'm often on my way out the door when I offer an RABCK... not including your address could mean I have to pick someone else!
4. Please be SPECIFIC! I need full titles, and authors wouldn't hurt. (Someone once asked for "that star trek book". Umm, errr, I have PAGES of those!)
5. US and APO/FPO only. Some people with APO/FPO addresses have volunteered in the past to act as a go-between for international shipping. If you can work it out that way, I will happily ship your book to an APO/FPO address for forwarding.
