Currently, I am a high school student who wishes that she wasn't. I can't wait until I go to college and escape, but for now books take me away at least for a little while. Some of my favorite authors are Neil Gaiman, Chuck Palanhiuk, Tamora Pierce, and Francesca Lia Block. I'm a firm believer in books changing your life, and here are some that have changed mine:

Fight Club by Chuck Palanhiuk
The entire Sandman series by Neil Gaiman
I was a Teenage Fairy by Francesca Lia Block

Now, don't think that just because all my "life changing" books are contemporary I snub the classics. Jane Eyre and Little Women are two of my favorite books, and Walt Whitman is by far my favorite poet.

I don't define myself as reading one particular genre. I love Sci-fi/Fantasy, historical fiction, mysteries, and I have even picked up a supermarket paperback in my life. You know, one of those trashy romance novels filled with heaving bosoms and passionate kisses. No harm in having a guilty pleasure.

I'm so glad this group exists. I hope my books are found, and that I find someone else's.
