Sox in the City is a community launderette and clothing store in the heart of Edinburgh that aims to provide an affordable service to people who are caught in the poverty trap.

Run by the Ark Trust we have provided an essential service to around 12000 visits a year. Sox is for everyone, most of our customers are homeless or living on low income but we also see local residents, tourists and students. We also have in place a volunteer programme which provides opportunities for individuals who have experience of homeless or high support needs including mental health issues and addictions.

People are free to leave books with us and we will set them free to our customers (free of charge of course). While you are in please feel free to take advantage of our prices and enjoy the special Sox welcome.
