Extended Profile
Hello; I am Don Davis, active listener, learner, educator, writer of letters and ocassional short stories and essays. The book that recently had an impact on me was EMBERS by Sandor Marai, a two hundred page novel originally published in Hungary in 1942
and finally translated into English the past year, 2001, by Carol Brown Janeway.I still gravitated toward re-reading "Madame Bovary" and "The Great Gatsby" as well as short stories by Maugham and Maupassant. I am presently an Adjunct Professor of Special Education
after having spent 23 years teaching and training Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counselors at a local Community College.
My degrees are in Sociology, Literature and Special Education and I continue to take online Writing and Literature courses. I have had a couple of stories and poems published in our Newspaper and College Journals and have had a share of rejections. My latest passion is Harmonica.
I do look forward to receiving BOOK. I have met many new friends and renewed acquaintances with many others. I am pleased to have had one of my letters to the editor printed in BOOK.
