Extended Profile
I chose my screen name, RoadTripReader, because when I looked back over how the love of reading developed in my life, my earliest memories of books were being in the car learning how to read with books on tape where the cassette made a beeping noise to
let you know when to turn the page. As I grew older, one of the things I continued to like so much about road trips was being in the passenger seat alternating between seeing the country and reading books.
My favorite road trip book would probably be Don Miller's "Prayer and the Art of Volkswagen Maintenance." (Since re-released under a different title.) Reading his books is like reading a more articulate form of my own thoughts. His road trip reminds me of times when I have traveled the same miles. Reading his first book, I felt like there was another Jesus follower out there with the same perspective as myself. His second book is set in the city where I used to live with references to many recognizable spots.
I have travelled to 39 states. My foreign travels consist of England/Scotland, Denmark, Canada, Mexico, South Korea, Israel, and Taiwan. In my profile pic, I am in a friend's room in Seoul enjoying some of her books.
My life has gotten more complicated since originally joining BookCrossing and, sadly, I am no longer active.
