Hi! A "perfect bind" is a type of book binding ("A method of holding together the pages of a book without stitching or sewing," definition from the Chicago Manual of Style). I've worked in the publishing industry since 1988, so I thought a publishing term would be appropriate for my screen name.

I won't be trying to impress you with my taste in books. I'm an editor, and I work on scholarly material, most of which can be pretty . . . well . . . dull. So on those rare occasions when I have a chance to sit down and read for pleasure, it needs to be well-written but light! :-)

I do plan to release some books of my own soon, but most of my library is still I.B.S. (In a Box . . . Somewhere). My hubby and I moved to Adams County in April 2001 -- about a month and a half after our wedding. It was a crazy, busy, exciting time! We unpacked the essentials and have been oh-so-slowly unpacking the rest as time goes by. But getting books unpacked hasn't been much of a priority when the library and rings/rays are available for my reading pleasure! ;-)

When I'm not editing for pay or reading for pleasure, other pasttimes include involvement in the Friends of the Adams County Library and the Littlestown Jaycees, baking, occasional gardening, watching movies, and playing with my dog, Shadow, who we found at the York SPCA in August 2002, and my cats -- Smudge, Fuzzy, Caret, and Footnote -- who have all adopted us since July 2002. Neuter and spay, it's the kindest way! :-)

Looking forward to meeting other local Bookcrossers.
