I have always been an avid reader and tried to encourage others to be also. I once worked in a college bookstore and once in Waldenbooks and loved both jobs because I got to recommend good books in the different genre. In fact I pay the boy next door to read during the summer so that he will be an active summertime reader and it is worth every penny.I am so excited about this site as I think it will make books available to a lot of people who otherwise might not read. All readers have lots of books to pass along and what a fun way to do it.
My favorite hobby is traveling both here and abroad. I have been to 10 countries so far and I am looking forward to taking books to set free on my next trip. I also like to sing and play handbells and years ago played saxophone in my high school band and recently bought a used sax and can actually make music with it.
I enjoy doing volunteer work and am currently a Panda Volunteer at the Memphis Zoo. For several years I have been a volunteer docent with the Wonders of Memphis which brings wonderful art and cultural exhibits to the Memphis area. Check out wonders.org for current or coming event. Some of my most rewarding moments in life have been building a Habitat house that was done by women for women and mission work trips with my church.
My favorite books are about real places, real people and real incidents but a good mystery is also a fun diversion. Someday I hope to write a book myself.
