Extended Profile
I love books. I am addicted to books. I grew up in a household where, when we moved house (regularly), the first thing that happened was that all the books were packed up. Then, if there was still money, we took some of the furniture.
I have more books than almost anyone else I know. ... but about ten years ago I decided I had to control the intake and even weed a little. Fortunately, about the same time I discovered BookCrossing. It's better than the public library for new adventures in reading.
BookCrossingZones have given me quests. I have hunted them out in several countries, not only finding new books to read but also exploring parts of cities (even my own) which I would otherwise not visited.
BookCrossing is not only about books, it's also about meeting people with shared interests. I've gone to MeetUps overseas, but my regular MeetUp is the Sydney CBD BookCrossing MeetUp happens on the second Tuesday of the month from 7pm (or a bit earlier) to 9pm (or whenever the conversation winds down). All readers welcome! How to find out about it is in transition right now, though there is a monthly reminder. PM me if you would like to know more.
My profile photo is from a mausoleum in the Campo Santo in the Piazza del Duomo in Pisa, Itally. I'll surely still be reading myself.
