I've been releasing books into the wild and waiting for them to be logged in as 'caught' - shouldn't hold my breath, I've learned. But hey, the good deed has been done!

In the mean time, I've been traveling the many pages here and and am very grateful to have learned about M-bags.

Since I lived in Europe for 10+ years, I can truly appreciate the concept of Bookcrossings - as I devoured every new English book I could get my hands on! We stared an American club in 1984 and the one group that has remained constant over the past 22 years is the book club!

So, I am going to have a perpetual M-bag.... Every time it gets to 11 pounds or once a month, whichever comes first - I am going to send a care package in the form of an M-bag to fellow Americans and others who speak and read English in Denmark. It will be sent to the US Women's Club of Fyn in Odense, Denmark.

Anyone want to release their books on foreign soil? Go ahead and PM (private message) me for shipping info - I'll pay to send them to Denmark. My gift to the folks living there...

And besides great novels, etc... don't forget books for the kids. Mother Goose, Dick & Jane, Pooh, Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew... think of all the books you read as a kid (or had read to you), then imagine a child born to an American living abroad.

I was once, one of those American parents. Both my boys were born there and had it not been for a whim of my Danish husband... they might have also grown up there, never knowing if "patent leather shoes really reflect up". What a tragedy that would have been!
