I am 55 and am decluttering my house with the help of Flylady.net

This is a great idea to see where my gently loved books go! When I was little, we used to release big helium baloons with a note to write us back when they were found. One of mine crossed several states!

We (hubby & I) moved here 6 years ago, following our jobs in the steel support industry. Please thank your government officials for forcing the steel industry to shut down and move overseas with the pollution laws and other restrictions. The last steel company here went chapter 13 3 years ago, and hubby is working as a telemarketer with a Master's degree. sigh.
I do catsitting for people on vacation since there is not much industry left here (rust belt). I was an industrial Chemist for 27 years, spent mostly in research. I have a lot of books from then that I will likely never look at again:) YEAH!!

I do some tutoring in the sciences with learning disabled kids - they are SO fun! Many are misdiagnosed...they just learn in different ways that don't fit into the school system's budget or philosophy. I attended a meeting as an advocate for a LD boy who wanted to transfer into the regular High school. He can build a computer, HTML in his sleep and they have him in a school with severely handicapped kids because thats the only place they could handle his behavorial problems.
I asked the Principal if they did mainstreaming...he got this lovely shade of red and muttered NO.. Then I asked for the job description of their Special Ed. coordinator who was sitting next to me. more mumbling. I asked about local and state funding, and yes, they accepted them. I asked about FEDERAL funding, and yes, they take that too. He about wanted to strangle me when I asked if they met the criterion for ACCEPTING the federal funds. He spat out SOMETIMES! This meeting is OVER!
I am investigating this further. Anyone else with interests in this area are sncouraged to chat with me.

We have 2 cats, tabby shelter cats. One is diabetic. His name is Elektron. We had to name him that, 'cause when we brought him home from the pound he occupied all the space that was available, dependent on temperature and pressure.:) He is 15 now, and little brother Nerml is 5. "little brother weighs 28 pounds!

Well, I do go on. Looking forward to sending my books on journeys and adventures.
