Extended Profile
Avid reader and runner here.
I chose the name "Book-Dragon" because in the past I have gotten into the habit of hoarding books, much like a dragon and her gold, until my small apartment is bursting with them and often I am literally sitting upon them! And now, I am endeavoring to be a "good" dragon and let the books go.
I have also joined a couple of book swap sites, but since money is a little tight (what with those dratted student loans and hoping to buy a house soon), I expect to release most of my books around town and wherever I might be traveling.
My to-be-read list is heinously big. My biggest priority as a reader is to reduce its size, but this may take a long, long time. Some books have been on the list for many years. My goal is to be more of a library person and to be more "current" with my reading, while still being able to take some time for the classics and such.
I am a great lover of fantasy fiction. After becoming hooked on such interminable series as The Wheel of Time and A Song of Ice and Fire, I recently instituted a new rule: I will only start reading a fantasy series when it is complete. I will then read the first book and decide whether to proceed. As a result, I have a great many first books of various series lying around that will not be touched for a long while! If something looks interesting and promising, I snap it up at once.
