Extended Profile
Hi,
I am an Artist, who loves color, and accidentally wrote a book. As part of the Brooklyn Art Library I have been creating sketchbooks for them for 4 years. It is a program where artists from all over the world submit a sketchbooks to be toured all over the country. (Brooklyn Art Library, Sketchbook Project.)
After illustrating a children's book of poetry & Haiku for another author, my sketchbook was not complete. So with a theme of Lines and Borders....I made a a line from the front cover to the back cover. Then I needed to put something in the middle of the lines and borders....which became a story of Silly Selma. "Why is Silly Selma, Silly?" that was 3 years ago. Life and family illness happened and kept me from my writing, and painting.
In those three years I queried, and was never picked up. After getting over my defeat, I am taking a Storytelling Workshop with Arree Chung and have revised my book many times. I am now ready to finish my illustrations and start querying again. Wish all storytellers determination and never give up.
