I love books, and am always ready to stop by a book store to see what's new (never on the best seller list, but rather, in my current area of interest.) Bookcrossing is helping me release books from my shelf that I don't need to keep, and have fun in the process! My interests have varied over the years - Christian spiritual formation, history (now that I'm old enough to have lived some of it!), creativity and crafts, and novels. Some of my favorite authors are James Michener, John Grisham, Eugene Peterson, Henri Nouwen, Kathleen Norris. Peter Speier was my favorite children's author when my kids were small. I am sad to see that only a couple of his books are on the store shelves these days.

I am a kaleidoscope artist, and also enjoy being creative with greeting cards, books, and in decorative journalling. At the moment, I have a Morning Pages journal, a spiritual journal, and a decorative journal for spontaneous life processing. My non-book interests include knitting, genealogy, playing cards, and watching movies. Currently, my grandchildren are providing an outlet for trying out new knitting patterns - what fun!

Some of my days are spent in the sobering task of being a Guardian ad Litem, volunteering as an advocate for abused children within the court system. My husband and I also visit a local prison weekly, for conversation with other brothers in Christ. And once a year, we head for Honduras to help with a medical/dental mission team in La Mosquitia.

And my latest passion? Dark chocolate peanut M&Ms!

Updating this profile for 2009, Duplicate Bridge is my latest obsession, taking me to tournaments with opportunities to release books along the way.
