A great summer read set in a doctors office which is spirally out of control due events in the lives of doctors and their staff. Everything comes into play marriage, death of a beloved spouse, sexual orientation and reglion. The story is told from the different characters point of view, which made it hard for me to put the book down.

As a nurse who did work in a multi-physician office at one time I could really relate and appreciate this story. I did enjoy it being told from the different office personnel perspectives and as I might have guessed the author is also a physician as her medical knowledge that was incorporated in the story was right on. Thank-you MarthEllen for sharing this book with me.

What got me to read this book was the fact it was set in a medical office. But, it’s not the type of book where dirty things are happening – it’s more about relationships between people and how they act can affect the others, and ultimately the whole functioning of the clinic. None of the characters are perfect, a point that I liked about this book. The pace is okay but, sometimes it takes too long to get to the point – they are lengths in the text which makes it “slow”, parts that I think could have been cut and make the whole story much better. Overall, I liked it and got the idea of the author, which wanted to tell the stories of people working in the health system but not in a hospital, people who are yearning for things in life. Not sure though I would read her other books.

Will now pm the next bcer to have her address so I can mail the book this week...

EDIT: as of April 8th, I still haven't rec'd an answer to my 1st pm, so I'm sending a new one...
