This is not only Dostoevsky’s masterpiece, but it is regarded by many as the greatest novel ever written. Once you read it, I hope that you’ll agree.
I hope that you’re a CC student who is young, and has the enthusiasm and fire in the belly for great works of art. If you are, you’ll find this book worth your time and energy. Please persevere, for reading Karamazov is a life-enhancing experience.
In the 200 years since Pushkin died, Russian literature has proven itself (even in English translation) to be one of the finest gifts to the reading public. It’s hard to believe, but true, that Russian literature in 200 years has covered as much ground as nearly 1,000 years of English writing. Anonymous reader: Read this great, powerful work, and I’m sure you’ll agree.
