Another awesome used bookstore find!

From the back: "Spanning three generations, "Moon Palace" is the story of Marco Stanly Fogg and his quest for identity in a modern world. Moving from the concrete canyons of Manhattan to the cruelly beautiful landscape of the American West, it is a meditation on and re-examination of America, art and the self, by one of America's foremost authors."

Wheeeeeeeeeeee! I love Paul Auster

Paul Auster is amazing. This book is amazing.

Well written, as always, but so charged with a quiet, determined humanity-- a story with a weight and significance as usual with Auster, and yet such a whimsy as well. Loved it.

MS is an unlikely (and sometimes vapid...) protagonist, but despite his abandon to the fates, he is ultimately the lynchpin in the story and provides a neutral backdrop for the lives and insights that dance with him and around him. I did find the wrap-up at the end a touch cheezy, but so be it. It is meant to be a novel about Amerciana, so I guess it fits... In any case, loved this book! Will pass along soon
