Read this one a while back. DiamondLight very sweetly sent me another copy in a huge box o' mysteries. I'm going to pass it along to avanta7 with an Ellis Peters book I'm sending her. Hope she likes it.

Noir isn't a genre I've read much, especially vintage noir. I read Chandler's THE BIG SLEEP several years ago, and some of the more recent noirish stuff by Dan Simmons and P.N. Elrod, but I've never read Ross McDonald. It's certainly worth a try. I'll never know otherwise...
(Of course, I said that about beets, too.)
