My thoughts on the book;

Not read by me, but this was either bought as part of a bulk-buy "10 for £1" offer at a "withdrawn" books sale at Chelmsford Library, or as part of a bulk-buy "two books for 50p" charity shop deal, or left at our staff canteen along with other books people had finished with; or has been "donated" to the BookCrossing cause (or "your Book Travelling-thingy", as he calls it) by my dear Father.

The attached journal image should give you an idea which one of those sources this book came from. ;-)

"This review is from: Horus Rising (The Horus Heresy) (Mass Market Paperback)
I read this book recently and once I started reading it I was instantly enraptured and devoured this and the two sequels in the space of about a week!

I really enjoyed this opening book of the Horus Heresy series. Dan Abnett is a great writer IMO and I loved the gritty and dark style of this novel.

I think Abnett does a great job of bringing what are essentially and army of faceless clones to life with many interesting characters. The action is fast paced and gripping and for those into the 40K universe this is a great window into the history of the Space Marines.

Highly recommended. I would advise buying the first three books together as once you start reading the first novel it is very hard to put down and you'll be hungry for more when you finish it!"

Microsoft Office Word Label and Bookmark Templates;

A lot of us BookCrossers use sheets of shop-bought sticky labels to put the BCID numbers on our books, myself included. I've made up several BookCrossing label templates and other bits and bobs in MS Word, and if you would like any of them, drop me a Private Message with your requirements, and I can directly link you to what might be suitable for you.

See http://www.fishchipsandmushypeas.co.uk/bc/ for everything I have on offer, all for free download and use.

Templates are all available in a wide range of label sizes and label brands.

I also have a sheet of basic bookmarks with the BC logo and "mail merge" versions of some of the Microsoft Word Banner labels templates too.

I can probably replicate any label layout fairly quickly into a different sheet layout, so tell me what you need.

I'm sorry; I couldn't resist it!! It was on the bench by the entrance to the Cathedral grounds next to the magistrates court. Someone had obviously picked it up and decided they didn't want it as it was half-way out of its bag and looked like rubbish :(

so I rescued it!

I have really enjoyed reading this; I didn't think I would! Mr Wicked&Lazy paints these WarHammer figures - the little 40K people so I knew about the Luna Wolves and Blood Angels as they are distributed throughout my house in various states - unmade, unsprayed, unpainted... But I did like the book and in fact I now need to read the rest of the series!

I am keeping this for a while as Mr W&L would like to read it, but he only reads on holiday - so I will take it to Greece with me next year and then release it somewhere - maybe in the departure lounge or on the plane.

JamesUK I don't know if you are still receiving BC updates but I just wanted you to know, I've still got this book and I still read it! It's the first in a huge series about the Space Marines and I've now got another dozen books from the series! You started something which many years later is still going strong, so thanks.
