Isaac is the son of American missionary doctors in Java, Indonesia. He's happy there, and is best friends with a local Muslim boy, Ismail - a friendship they both believe is a solid as the majestic flame tree just outside the mission gates. But when the hospital where Isaac's parents work is threatened by an Islamic fundamentalist group their tightly knit community begins to unravel.

My goodness, it’s been years since I used Bookcrossing. I’m so glad it’s still going. Thanks to Skyring who kindly lent me his camera for a trip and included a couple of Bookcrossing books and other goodies.
I recognise the raven artwork in the bookplate. The original 2003 release was the current label when I first joined.
