"Nothing links person to person like the frequent passage from hand to hand of a good book."
This is the story of Despereaux Tilling, a mouse in love with music, stories, and a princess named Pea. This may be the only book my son was forced to read in school that he actually loved :)

If you aren't familiar with Bookcrossing, take a few minutes to check out this very cool site. Bookcrossers LOVE books, and more than anything, they love to read books and then set them free for other people to find and enjoy. I would love it if you would leave a journal entry -- you can say where you found the book or how you liked it when you read it. Then, when you are ready, pass it along for someone else to enjoy! Thanks and happy reading!

The Tale of Despereaux arrived today! Thank you so much judygreeneyes. It's been on my TBR list for a while. I'm so glad to receive this beautiful copy. Many thanks! :)
Cute story about a mouse, a rat, a servant girl and a princess. While I loved Despereaux (the adorable tiny mouse with big ears), I was really surprised by Mig's (the servant girl) storyline and physical abuse she endured. Overall, I liked the themes about courage and forgiveness.
