1990 Ballantine paperback of the excellent 1989 Vietnam War tale. I bought this copy new way back when.
I can let this go after I read:
1973 Falling [read 2021]
1974 Anya [n/a]
1978 Time in Its Flight [n/a]
1981 Love [n/a]
1983 First Nights [n/a]
1984 The Madness of a Seduced Woman [n/a]
1985 Mainland [n/a]
1986 The Injured Party [n/a]
Edit January 26, 2022: This was really great, but I just skimmed to end for time on this re-read. It runs quite long. But I remember it being a fascinating adventure into the Vietnam War landscape, with more focus on the mobile military equipment and its crews, rather than the usual point of view of small squads on foot going village to village and swamp to swamp. I currently have this ranked at #5469 on my ranked list of best-read books lately, low because of the excess length.
