"The White Tiger is a tale of two Indias. Balram’s journey from the darkness of village life to the light of entrepreneurial success is utterly amoral, brilliantly irreverent, deeply endearing and altogether unforgettable.”

Thank you so much 4andSomething for this book from my wishlist! :D I've wanted this book FOR EVER! I hope I'll be able to read it soon but that's hard to know given how many books I have now after winning this sweepstake :P And thank you too for the wonderful wagtail drawn on the parcel you sent the book in, I've saved it since it was so cute ;)

A very interesting narrative of modern India. About the inequalities between classes and castes and of overcoming them.

It raises some important questions. Is a revolution the answer to solve the inequalities of India, and if so, what kind of revolution? The struggle of Balram, the leading character of the novel, is a bloody one. He achives his goal, not to have to serve an other man. But to what price?

The book has arrived safely, it must have got here while I was away.

I'm really looking forward to reading it after seeing the very positive comments from VictoriaWagtail! The only problem is that I have a huge TBR pile ahead of me, but I'll get to it!

Thanks VictoriaWagtail for sharing!
