Found at a thrift store. In my TBR pile.

A rising corporate star, Fiona Burkenhalter is a New Yorker through and through. When her boss sends her to the Florida Everglades to accompany a wealthy new client on a rustic fishing expedition, it may as well be another planet to city slicker Fiona. She's more than a little steamed at this detour from the executive fast track -- until she meets the expedition's larger-than-life guide, Ace Montgomery.

Entirely out of her element, Fiona becomes mired in a maze of hair-raising circumstances the moment she arrives in Florida. Inexplicably pegged as the prime suspect for a shocking murder, Fiona finds that her only ally is Ace. As an irresistible chemistry flares -- and with their lives and hearts on the line -- they turn up the heat in their desperate search for a killer.

I have started a book ring with High Tide and it is in the mail today to the first participant! There are 3 participants. Here is the order:

1. Eriko1908
2. Jenvince
3. Suefitz

Then back to casseytara!

If anyone has any issues with the order, please let me know and I’ll try to rearrange! I will leave this ring open in the event someone wants to join at a later date and be added to the end of the list.

When you are ready to send the book on, PM the next person on the list to get their address. If they don’t respond within a week or so, let me know, and we can move their name down the list and go to the next person.

Enjoy everyone!

I'm glad I was given the chance to read this book...I loved the story...Fiona wasn't too "citified" and "girly" like I figured she would be...I actually laughed out loud a couple of times as Fiona & Ace argued & fought with each other. Thanks so much casseytara for sharing!! This one is off to jenvince in the morning! Hope it is enjoyed by all... :o)

Oh yeah...just an FYI to all...pages 9-14 are loose...I started this book, got to page 8, and the story just JUMPED...I read it a few times trying to make it make sense, and then I looked at the page numbers on the bottom and thought great...page 14 right after 8...but after a bit of investigating I found the missing pages...they were just flipped over...so...I put them back in the correct order, but they are loose...just wanted you all to be aware of this so that they don't wind up blowing away in a swift breeze!!

This book was waiting for me in my mailbox today. Hopefully, it won't mind being patient a little longer, as I have a few rings to finish first. I will get to it as soon as I can so it can continue on its journey. :)

eriko1908 - thank you for the note about the loose pages. I will be extra careful with this book.

Well, I ended up staying up till the wee hours of the morning to finish this. It was great! I got a little confused at the end with the stories, maps, etc. (probably due to being tired - LOL!) but overall I really enjoyed this story. Thank you for sharing it. As soon as I get an address from Suefitz, off it goes! :)

I finally got around to reading this myself! It was enjoyable, though I remember liking Jude Deveraux so much that I expected to like this more than I did! I think the problem is that so many times during this book I thought how implausible the situation was. For two people on the run for murder, they sure had an easy time staying hidden from the authorities. I don't know if this constitutes a spoiler or not, but it just nagged at me -- I know the luxurious hotel they hid out in belonged to Ace's cousin, but even so, wouldn't you think the police would be keeping an eye on it for that very reason? And they kept going back to the bird park Ace owned - wouldn't the police have kept it staked out since Ace owned it? But maybe not.

Anyway, this book will now be traveling to hostile17.
