I've struggled with Pavic's "Dictionary of the Khazars" over the years and am determined to figure it out!

I know instinctively that Pavic must be an "IMPORTANT WRITER." His seeking to use new forms for his novels. His insights into the baffling world of The Balkans. His witness to the tragedy of European history.

This novel is not in the form of a dictionary, but in the form of a crossword puzzle and looks to be challenging in both subject matter as well as form.


I'm going to give it my best effort.
