Purchased specially for the Bally Bucks raffle at BC in DC.
Enjoy!

I have a hard copy on my permanet bookshelf - here is what I said about it when I read it :-
This was a lovely but heartbreaking story to read. I had never read (or even heard of) this author before. I thought it was well written and I liked the way the author handled the female perspective. The story was about a great love affair between a young Australian, John and a beautiful young Tunisian woman Sabiha, who he met by mistake - catching the wrong train whilst visiting Paris. I liked the way the story unfolded over coffee meetings, as John and retired author Ken became friends at the same time as Ken was dealing with his own mortality and the relationship with his adult daughter.
Their story of the sixteen years they lived childlessly, in Paris was romantic but heartaching as Sabiha fell into depression the longer she was unable to conceive the daughter she had always known she would have . John had a great love for Sahiba and coped very well with the way she eventually became pregnant. A modern day tragedy.

I won the lovely prize you donated for the raffle. Thanks. I love it. Will take it all back home to Spokane, WA with me. It was great to talk to you during the convention.

I doubt I would have picked this book up if I hadn't won it in a raffle at the convention, as I read very little "normal" literature; however, I am glad I had the chance to read it. I was instantly drawn into the book. I loved how the author went back and forth from the present day to the past in order to tell the story. I was a little surprised at how the story ended, especially after Sabiha got pregnant. Thank you so much for bringing/sending this to the convention!

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

This was not on your wishlist, but I enjoyed this book a lot and hope you will do the same. Plus, I got it at the DC convention and since you couldn't be there, at least a book from the convention will pass through your hands. :)

How WAS the D.C. convention? Do you have pictures? Stories? I'm soooo jealous. I wanted to go so badly. I'm glad you included a book that you enjoyed and that was at the convention. I want to try to read this one first. Thank you! xoxo

I LOVED this book. I was sucked in immediately and couldn't put it down. Well written. Beautiful and tragic. This is the first book I have ever read by this author as well, but I am eager to read more of his work. I enjoyed reading this one very much. I wish I could have made it to BC in DC. Maybe one of these days.
