“Unless is the worry word of the English language. It flies like a moth around the ear, you hardly hear it, and yet everything depends on its breathy presence.”
I like how the book is written in first person and even if not much happens its interesting. But I found it too feminist, specially the letters she writes.

This is the summary as written by the editor [or somebody in a similar position]
Reta Winters has a loving family, good friends, and growing success as a writer of light fiction. then her eldest daughter suddenly withdraws from the world, abandoning university to sit on a street corner, wearing a sign that reads only "goodness". as Reta seeks the causes of her daughter's retreat, her enquiry turns into an unflinching, often very funny meditation on society and where we find meaning and hope.

Well, I found it mildly interesting. A masterpiece it's not, but I found it a fast read. The main conflict lies with Reta (Renata) Winters-Summers, whose writing career is a bit stalled because about the worries concerning her eldest daughter. She leads a wealthy life in a committed relationship, although she keeps on looking for further fulfillment, although she sometimes cannot point to why she feels that void. The feminism is quite "tamed", it's not strong, or violent, and the feminists do not seem to be really fighting for the world they supposedly dream of.
Estará esperándoos.
