Running with Scissors

The novel is extremely well-written and fascinating- to the point where it deeply disturbs the reader. It evokes a plethora of emotions, including disgust, discomfort, and disbelief. It's written in a way that makes the reader feel as if he or she loses his or her childhood along with Augusten. Don't read this book if you are uncomfortable with odd, disturbing sexual situations and child abuse; the images created by Burroughs will give you nightmares for days.
Journal Entry 2 by hav2dance at St. Louis County Library - Daniel Boone Branch in Ellisville, Missouri USA on Friday, September 5, 2003
Release planned for Saturday, September 06, 2003 at Daniel Boone Libray Branch Clarkson Rd in Chesterfield, Missouri USA.
Found the book at the Daniel Boone Library in the magazine racks. I would have never picked this book to read on my own...but it is one I won't forget. It is well written...both horrible and funny. A childhood this is exposed to bizzare happenings and Augusten not only survives it all but it magnifies the creativity in his personality. You will love it and hate it at the same time.
Plan to release this book on November 9, 2003 at Lambert International Airport, St. Louis, MO.
