5 journalers for this copy...
Dear Reader
Welcome to BookCrossing and thanks for being a part of World Book Night 2011, the largest book giveaway in history. 1,000,000 specially printed copies of 25 different books changed hands on March 5th 2011 and began their journey from reader to reader. This book is one of them. World Book Night has joined with BookCrossing to help track these books as they travel. You can be a part of that journey by making a comment in the book's journal here on BookCrossing. Your journal entry can say how you got the book, what you thought of it, your plans for it or whatever else you might like to add.
On BookCrossing you may choose to remain anonymous or join (it's free). If you join, you’ll be alerted by e-mail each time someone makes another journal entry for this specific copy of this book (other copies of the book are travelling with their own ID number. Every copy of every book has a unique ID). It’s all confidential (you’re known only by your screen name and no one is ever given your e-mail address) and spam-free.
Thanks in advance for being part of World Book Night and BookCrossing. And happy reading and sharing.

Picked up from the World Book Night event in Colchester.
Given to BookAmbler during meet up at the Layer Fox so that it can be passed on to Chamonix44.
Took a wee peek at this before passing to Chamonix44. I'm not a poetry fan but, once I'd got the hang of the theme (durr!), I loved these witty offerings from Carol Ann Duffy :)
I didn't 'get' them all but that's because I didn't know the background story for some of them.
Here's one of two shorty poems in the book to whet your appetite...
Mrs Icarus
I'm not the first or the last
to stand on a hillock,
watching the man she married
prove to the world
he's a total, utter, absolute, Grade A pillock.

Thank you for this book, Ardachy and BookAmbler. What a lot of WBN titles you had saved for me. This was a wonderful surprise, and I look forward to reading every one of them. I am pleased to get a chance to read this poetry book too, as I wasn't sure if either of the two WBN poetry books would find its way to Essex!
Not my type of poetry. I found it a bit vulgar, but others probably like it. (Give me A.A. Milne's poetry every time, instead of this)! Now I will try to lend this book out to friends.
I passed this book on to Pauline, who is a member of our Anglican Church congregation, and lives in Apeldoorn. Pauline is also a member of a poetry group and she will take this book along to the group.
Pauline, I hope you will find something that you like in there, as I found the poems a bit strange to say the least!!

Journal Entry 10 by AnonymousFinder at Apeldoorn, Gelderland Netherlands on Wednesday, July 27, 2011
Reading contemporary poetry is always good and I enjoyed reading Carol Ann Duffy - identifying with some of her experiences. Enjoyed Elvis's Twin Sister & Pope Joan - must be the Catholic in me! Frau Freud reminds me of all the girls night's out I've had.
I delivered this book to my friend, Lies, this morning as she was on her way for a short break to Düsseldorf in Germany. She will read it and give it back to me on her return. I am not expecting a journal entry from Lies, but I will ask her what she thought of the book afterwards and I will write it here. (For the English journallers reading this, LIES is pronounced like LEECE!!!)
Message for Lies:
Just in case you do get to read this Lies, and in case you can manage a journal entry....I hope you enjoy the book...and don't worry about writing a long journal entry, just one sentence will do!!
I wish you a pleasant break in Germany, with some good reading!

I received this book back from my friend, Lies, today. She asked me to write this short review for her. So here it is:
Review from Lies:
I finished this book really quickly. I enjoyed reading it. Chamonix44 thought the poems were vulgar, but I didn't. I liked them and they made me smile. Some of them remind me of myself! Haha! Thank you for sharing!

I love poetry. Sorry to have had this book so long.
I received this book back today. I made the last journal entry for V. because she didn't want to do it herself, I guess.
I only wrote down the words she told me when I last spoke to her on the phone.
