This one is a bit above my idiot-cook capabilities :-)

Please note! I offered this up on the BookRelay site as a Veggie cookbook, however just realized there are a few (about 8) recipes with meat. This is overwhelming veggie, though. And besides...the meat ones don't look very good anyway ;-)

The postman just ran the doorbell and here it was, the soy cookbook (with wondeful stamps). Just as I was getting really worried it got lost in the mail (and I thought patience was in my nature!!!).
I feel lazy these days, and never know what to cook and eat, so that should help! Thanks, Zmrzlina.

Oh funny...I just sent a PM letting you know what took this so long to get to you, and then a few emails later, I get the journal entry :-)

Ok, main reason for that journal entry was to put a status on the book. New game, lots of fun...
But, since I'm here, I'll add that I did try some of the recipes - the carrot pie was good although the colour was a bit strange, and I really liked the alfredo sauce made with soft tofu - but I still have to decide what other ones I want to try. But I don't forget this is a BC book, and it will be released again one day.

Ok, time to make this book available to someone else.
Overall, I liked the book presentation, and the recipes I tried were good, but I wouldn't call it "The Soy Alternative". All the recipes do contain one or many soy products but well, you don't need a recipe to replace regular yoghurt by soy yoghurt or vegetable oil by soy oil, do you? I would have like more recipes with soy beans - more "alternative" recipes.
Nevertheless, I strongly recommend the Soy Pasta With Creamy Mushroom and Leek Sauce - which I've also tried with ham, or brocoli, or green pepper, or onions and yes, it's always good - and the Lentil Soup on p.82. Miam!

We had an "unofficial" meet-up today in Montreal and I brought this book with me. I didn't have time to make the journal entries before the meet-up so I make them after. Some of the books I brought didn't find any new owners but this one did!

I found this book at the Commensal in Montréal last friday. The pictures are very nice and I love health recipes. Thank you Folia. I think it will be hard to release this beautiful recipe book!
