Women Who Run With the Poodles: Myths and Tips for Honoring Your Mood Swings

I loved Clarissa Pinkola-Estes soulful book Women who Run with the Wolves (of which this is a spoof) and often reread it for upliftment. A friend and I would meet at a local cafe and put the world to rights. My friend had a lovely wicked sense of humor that kept us from too much self-obsession. She had us running with the poodles. So when I eventually got my own copy of this I was horribly disappointed. It's not as funny or fun as my friend was. Gratuitious bitchiness seems to sum it up rather. Still, if you find yourself in that sort of mood it could be a consolation. Men wouldn't give it the time of day.
