Journal Entry 1 by newf from St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador Canada on Monday, August 25, 2003
Read this quite a while ago, and loved it, though my memory is a little fuzzy now. It's the story of a visual artist, growing up in northern Ontario and Toronto. It alternates between past and present, and combines memorable characters and great first-person narrative.

It has arrived safe & sound, thanks Newf!, for the book and your kind note :)
(And I'll keep in mind your recommendation about 'The robber bride')
Goes to my TBR pile, I'll read it ASAP.

I've found it rather slow and too long for my taste.
*Sigh* ...well, maybe I'm just not getting Atwood's work at all (having read 'Surfacing' 'Lady Oracle' and this one but only finding 'great' 'The Handmaid's tale').
Thanks for giving me the chance to read it, Newf , I hope it will be travelling again soon =).
