I guess the time wasn't ripe until now for me to read this book. Even if it might be unfair for the book it was good I choose this time now to read it, asI was really sucked into the book. Of course I try to get the nextLindsay Boxer stories as well!
The book is the first in a series of at least 12 books, located in San Francisco, where Lindsay Boxer is the only female homicide detective. A mastermind killer stabs or shoots brides and grooms shortly after their wedding, taking only the wedding band with him. He manages to kill three couples before Lindsay and her partner can track him down. Lindsay simultaneouslysuffersfrom Negli's disease in which her red blood cell count decreases dramatically. During the investigation Lindsay's new partner Chris dies being shot, however she can bring the murderers (!) to heavenly justice.

I suppose that my mother who claimed that the women are stereotypes may have a point, but for some reason I wasn't bothered. I liked Lindsay Boxer and found her response to her personal situation realistic.
There are lots of turns and twists in this mystery and it ended with a nasty twist, one that I didn't really see coming even though I knew something still wasn't right.
So it was a captivating read and it is definitely a series worth following, now that I've begun to read it.
