A must read for anyone even remotely interested in the manned space program. I first read this book in high school, and it spurred a several year obsession (and continuing strong interest) in the history of the Apollo moon missions. There are many excellent books about the Apollo missions and astronauts, but this is the most comprehensive and engaging of those I've read.

I'm organizing a bookray for this book. PM me with location and shipping preferences to join.

A Man on the Moon is filled with numerous interesting details about the people behind the Apollo (and to a lesser degree Mercury and Gemini) missions. I found the many tangents and flashbacks unneccessarily distractions. I think I would have preferred a more straightforward approach to the timeline.
