This book has been on my radar for a while, having previously enjoyed other things this author's written, including The Last Word: Tales from the Tip of the Mother Tongue and Josiah the Great: The True Story of the Man who would be King. He can make all sorts of subjects seem absolutely fascinating . . .

I apologise in advance, however, that it may be a while before I get round to reading it as, in these very srange pandemic days in which we live, I've mostly been using books for escapism and haven't tackled any non-fiction recently. Still, his are so easy to read that I may well try it sooner rather than later!

The True Wartime Story of Eddie Chapman: The Most Notorious Double Agent of World War II (as per the title page) is ridiculously exciting, as page-turning as any spy novel. Ben Macintyre can certainly tell a good tale . . .

This came to me about a year ago from my friend and neighbour Nu-Knees.
I gave it to my other half to read as this is more his read.
It was a slow read but he enjoyed it.
I think I will pass it on as I have others I need to read.
