Into the Darkest Corner (RING)
6 journalers for this copy...
Catherine has been enjoying single life for long enough to know a good catch when she sees one. Gorgeous, charismatic and spontaneous, Lee seems almost too perfect to be true. But there is a dark side to him and his erratic, controlling and sometimes frightening behaviour means that Catherine is increasingly isolated. Driven into the darkest corner of her world, she plans a meticulous escape. Four years later, struggling to overcome her demons, Catherine dares to believe she might be safe from harm. Until one phone call changes everything.....

She lives in a village near Maidstone, Kent, with her husband and son. Into the Darkest Corner is her first novel.
I LOVED this book!!!! Totally unputdownable :o) Was a bit worried at first about reading the 2 different time frames, but it worked so well :o) Great characters and plenty of suspense! Cant tell you anything about the story line as i dont want to spoil it, but lets just say , sometimes, blokes ARE too good to be true ;o) Dont just take my word for it....

This one is starting its journey today by going off to dolph1n.... Hope you enjoy it hon :o)
Arrived today, safe and sound, thank you.
WOW! I couldn't put this down and read it in two days. I love the way it was written in the two time frames. Catherine is a great character, and I still keep thinking of her. Can't wait for Elizabeth's next book.
Off on the next leg of its journey.
There are 4 things wrong with this book
1. There doesn't appear to be a mailing list for me to put my name on for the next one
2. It's a debut book, no back catalogue for me to buy
3. the other 600 odd books on my shelf are now not appealing
4. It is scarily accurate
I picke it up this morning to take on the bus. Came home, sat down and read until it was finished. Then went to amazon and added a review so it has more chance of being this year's rising star.
The minute detail of the creepy behaviour was spot on. The silly unnoticeable by other people things that weren't believed, the slow steady entrapment, the belief that it was an inescapeable situation. I haven't read anything covering this subject so accurately since Erin Pizzey and hers wasn't fiction.
Thank you for sharing, I will reluctantly post it on.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that bookring books never travel alone, they always turn up in twos or threes - such is the case here, I'll get to this as soon as I can :-)
Wow! Just unputdownable.
Posted to Sterile today.
Arrived as expected in this mornings post! Thanks for including me in the ring - it's had some fantastic reviews so I'm looking forward to starting it probably tonight.
Finished this book last night at about 3am!! That's how much I enjoyed it. It didn't get the time lavished on it that it deserved (work commitments etc.) but I'm pleased that I signed up for the ring.
The tale pulled me in straight away and I had moments where I wanted to shout at Catherine for being so - well you'll have to read the story. Very believable, very creepy. I can see how vunerable people can be manipulated for the 'entertainment' of men like Lee.
I've pmed KathyS with a view of getting the book moving after the next Bank Holiday on Monday - waiting for a reply.

Bummed out a bit on finding KathyS so going to pm AngelChild to get the ring on the move again - sorry Kathy!
Yay! I have an address for KathyS Thanks to the intervention of AngelChild and Facebook!
I'm so pleased that I can send it on to the next reader as it's a brill if somewhat frustrating book.
Leaving my home via Royal Mail 2nd Class to KathyS in the morning of the 10th May 2011.

Arrived safely today. Thank you Sterile for your hard work in finally tracing me and getting the book to me and many apologies for all the trouble. It would seem that all my bookcrossing PMs were heading into my Spam folder and I hadn't spotted them. Anyway, I am really looking forward to reading this now after reading the reviews on here, will just have to finish my current read first.
All I can say is ...."WOW"!!!! I LOVED this book and can't believe that it's Elizabeth Haynes' debut novel. I thought the book was so well written with believable characters and a dramatic story line that kept me always wanting to read more, but often too scared to keep going especially when alone in the house at night! I thought the representation of Cathy's OCD was incredibly compelling and completely believable. I also thought that Lee's manipulation of Cathy and their relationship was also totally convincing. I feel sure that this would make an excellent film or TV drama and Daniel Craig would be perfect for Lee's role.
Thank you for sharing this with me Angelchild and I really hope that the author gets the recognition that she deserves. I shall definitely look out for more books from this author in the future.
