1960s rural Ireland. A village in south Armagh where men were men,
pigs were pigs and Justices of the Peace were hypnotised. Keep an eye
out for the Newry-Strabane bus passing through whose conductress is an
eighty year old ex-nun who takes no prisoners; catch a glimpse of the
smuggler, a Doris Day fanatic, who tries to outwit the local constable
and watch the local priest's efforts in assisting the villagers rid
the area of a new police seragent... *ggg*

I caught this one in our official bookcrossing zone, Café Persee in Deventer. I just bumped into another brand new bookcrosser there, all the way from Utrecht.
Since I am a big fan of Roddy Doyle, I am looking forward to this story taking place in rural Ireland.
And after finishing: mildly funny, nowhere near Roddy Doyle. Perhaps I was expecting a bit too much.
