Here is the last chapter:
The karmic dust of angels is everywhere.
The secret side of things is open to us.
The time of innocence is gone.
The age of dreaming is come.
Old ways are dying.
We who live through turbulent mysteries
Do not know that a whole way is passing.
We do not know the things to come.
We go on living as if history is a dream.
The miracle is that we go on
Living and loving as best we can,
In this enigma of reality.

Ben Okri showed me that the Europeans never did catch on to the African mindset. The black man's sensitivity to natural phenomena, spirit worlds, and ESP were never discovered. Europeans came from ego-built cities, consensual ideals, and Christian dogmas. Pretty small-minded compared to the wide-open expanses of the African experience and the timeless ideals of oneness with all that is. Thank you Ben for a grand tale/dream that I totally loved. Ralph Pitt. PS I grew up in Rhodesia, a white boy amongst many black boys.
