This book was riding in my bag along with my towel and sunscreen when I headed off to the beach last Friday, and I started - and finished it - there. It's an interesting story - a little creepy and melodramatic at times, granted. And yes, the parallels between this story and Rebecca, Jane Eyre and all the other Gothic romantic fiction novels are glaringly obvious.
