This is the fictional memoirs of Longan Mountstuart, writer and spy, whose life covers most of the twentieth century. It's a very readable story which I found interesting on two counts.
I like the fact that it's a journey through the events of a century seen through the eyes of one person (always a rewarding concept).
It's a story which makes you look at your own life and ask yourself, 'does my life tell a story?'
An enjoyable read in a universal kind of way. I don't believe this novel has the power to touch someone intimately. You won't come out with the feeling that this book has somehow been written especially for you. Good storytelling nonetheless.

Thank you Mathieu!I caught the book in the coffe place where I work. I thought it was a joke at first because people leave a lot of crap on the tables and chairs. I started to read it slowly, about 10 pages a week!!!And then, I really got into the story and finished the last 100 pages in one day. I know it's not a race but I really enjoyed the book and now I feel bad that I have had it for so long! I plan to leave it where I am now, at the university library, 1st floor at the computer cluster.
