Israel Armstrong is a passionate soul, lured to Ireland by the promise of an exciting new career. Alas, the job that awaits him is not quite what he had in mind. Still, Israel is not one to dwell on disappointment, as he prepares to drive a mobile library around a small, damp Irish town. After all, the scenery is lovely, the people are charming—but where are the books? The rolling library's 15,000 volumes have mysteriously gone missing, and it's up to Israel to discover who would steal them . . . and why. And perhaps, after that, he will tackle other bizarre and perplexing local mysteries—like, where does one go to find a proper cappuccino and a decent newspaper?

The main character Israel Armstrong who has no concept of how to interact with others is quite annoying. Despite this I liked the story and sometimes had to smile even if all those funny action was a bit overdone. The solution is a bit anticlimactic, but leaves room for the series to continue.

I didn't like the book! Especially Israel is such a loser, that it hurts to read about his ignorance and stupidity. Several times is was almost breaking up the book, because of its exaggerations. Israel is too stupid to do the same abuse his enemies do (Linda, Ted, George) to turn against them. It is not, because he is too friendly, but because he is too stupid, ignorant and imbecile.
the "solution" to the case of the missing books is also rather far-fetched and I completely missed the "Cozy feeling" about a cozy mystery about libraries. It could have been missing cattle as well and I wouldn't have felt worse. A book missed its purpose if I do not care about the solution, which was the case here, unfortunately.
I plan on avoiding books from this author in the future...
