Sixth book in the House of Night series
I was a bit disappointed with this one. I didn't think it was as good as the others but still enjoyable. On to the next one!

I am sooo sorry, I would have sworn I journalled this!
Anyways, I have now read it and am ready to pass it to someone else when I get a chance.
Unfortunately, this is definitely not the sort of book that you can come to cold and understand the story. It definitely lost a star or two for that. If it had a glossary, or recap, or something to help the new reader that would have made a big difference. I did enjoy the book, but the lack of knowledge of the back story made it hard to enjoy it as much as I would have done had I understood what was going on, what people could be expected to know and what they couldn't, and who was who. On the plus side, I am likely to seek out the first five books in the series to try to get my head around what I just read, so it is not all bad.
I liked the different abilities that each person and vampyre has, and these were portrayed well. I liked the way the story was told from multiple perspectives as it stopped it becoming too introspective and samey. I also thought it moved along swiftly, and with a general purpose. These books definitely seem to be more of a serialisation, and not stand alone novels, though!
I will try to read others in the series (probably from the library) and take it from there. I would like to know what happens next, but before that I think I need to know what went before.
Thanks for sharing!
