Welcome to BookCrossing!
Thanks for taking the time to read my journal. The book you've found is now yours, no strings attached! You can keep it forever or read it and pass it along like I did. It would be great though, if you could take the time to write a quick note so that I know it found a new home. You can stay annoynomous or sign up. It is free to join and no one gets your email address (plus no spam). If you sign up you will also get notifications if anyone else journals about this book, which is exciting. Please consider using Crossing-Guard as your referring member if you do sign up. Who knows how far this book will travel...

Journal Entry 2 by Crossing-Guard at Joshua Tree Café, Edmonton Trail in Calgary, Alberta Canada on Saturday, May 12, 2012
Released 11 yrs ago (5/12/2012 UTC) at Joshua Tree Café, Edmonton Trail in Calgary, Alberta Canada
WILD RELEASE NOTES:
I've had this one for awhile and finally picked it up. Why did I wait so long! This was a really cute story of a Iranian girl coming to America to find an American Husband before her visa expires. Of course things don't go as planned. It was an interesting look at how lucky we are to have the freedom to for the most part do what we want. I learned a lot about life in Iran without having the author cram it down my throat. Great read!
I am taking this to Calgary's "Wonderful World of Colour" themed meeting. Tami is a great colourful character and I enjoyed seeing things from her point of view. If no one takes it home then it will be left on the shelf.
Are you in the Calgary area and interested in meeting up with other Calgary BookCrossers? Please check out our facebook group, "BookCrossing Calgary" for details on how. Meeting are held on the second Saturday of every month at the Joshua Tree Cafe starting at 11am. New Crossers are always welcome.

Picked this up at the November meeting at the Joshua Tree Cafe. The pile is looking precarious.
LIttle worried this might be too deep when I was feeling a bit down. Had trouble putting it down though. Engaging story. I used to teach at the Islamic School and I learned a lot about the whole dating thing in their culture, so this was a very interesting read.
Taking this to the February meeting at the Joshua Cafe. THink it might even fit the theme.
Grabbed at get together
What an amazing story. It made me laugh, think, hold my breath, cry once, and mostly made me laugh!
What I also found interesting to think about was not the cultural differences but more how differently a person reacts to similar situations based on the environment they've lived in and how hard it is to learn to be not afraid.
Thanks for the amazing read!

Brought home from the Nov meeting!
This is a poignant story of cross cultural learning and friendships as well as a sweet romance.
Passing this back at the Christmas party to the next person on the list.

Next on the list...looking forward to reading it.
This was a fast read and totally enjoyable. I found myself cheering for the main character Tami who had so much at stake, found her voice and independence.
Taking this to the January bookcrossing meeting at Cravings
Piced up at today's BookCrossing meeting in Calgary. Looking forward to the read!
I couldn't put this book down. What a a wonderful read with such unique twists and characters. I liked them all in their own way.
Will be brought to the next BookCrossing Calgary meeting and handed off.

I brought this book home for my daughter but I think that perhaps I could bump it to the top of my TBR pile.
Sadly, I am returning some of the Bookcrossing Calgary books to the group today.
I just have so many books and not enough time to read them all, so some have to go back today.
