I'm quite certain that anyone within a 23-mile radius could hear the ticking of my biological clock at the time I picked up this book. Yet, given that the reality of a divorced 30-year-old woman ready to procreate can send even the most devoted lover running for the hills, I am currently coming to terms with the probability that the only booties I'll be knitting will need to fit my pet landsnails, Shiva and Shakti.
Although the title suggests otherwise, this book is not just for mothers or mothers to be. I found it to be as much about women and their relationships as it is about motherhood. If you are a twentiesh/thirtiesh aged woman you will surely relate frighteningly well to at least one, if not all three of the main characters.
