Looks like I'm the first to comment on this book. I'd seen the movie Shooter before I read this, so I had a reasonably good take on the plot and I'd a picture of the characters in my mind's eye before I started reading it. As expected, the book is better that the movie, probably because it isn't limited to telling the entire story in 120 minutes or less. The bad guys were also more believable and their point of view could be understood if not accepted.
