Caught at the Chertsey Meet Up tonight - looks strange and interesting!
It is, indeed, strange and interesting. At first the "comic" format really annoyed me and I nearly gave up on the book, but once I got into the story, I found that the illustrations added an extra dimension. Marjane Satrapi is the daughter of Iran's last emperor and is sent, alone, to Austria, away from the war in Iran, at the age of 13. She finds that she has to return at the age of 18, but her homecoming is not as she expects it to be and, perhaps unsurprisingly, she finds it hard to settle back.
A fascinating story.
Will be taken to the Chertsey book crossers meet up tomorrow.

On a side table in the lounge.
An interesting read. I've not read a book in the cartoon format before which I found a novel idea.
