The streets of Stoneham, New Hampsire are lined with bookstores...and paved with murder.
When she moved to Stoneham, city slicker Tricia Miles met nothing but friendly faces. And when she opened her mystery bookstore, she met friendly competition. But when she finds Doris Gleason dead in her own cookbook store, killed by a carving knife, the atmosphere seems more cutthroat than cordial. Someone wanted to get their hands on the rare cookbook that Doris had recently purchased-and the locals think that someone is Tricia. To clear her name, Tricia will have to take a page out of one of her own mysteries-and hunt down someone who isn't killing by the book.

After reading quite a lot of paranormals I picked this up for a change and found it was a fun little read. The strength of the book to me was the overall setting in a nice little charming town and the enjoyability of the main characters. I think the only thing I would have liked to see was more depth/history between the problems of the two sisters, but I plan to get the next in the series so maybe it will happen there :)

Although the story is located inNew England, I was not drawn into the plot. Somehow I was not too interested whether Mike or Doris or Deirdre or anyone else (the sheriff?) is the murderer. Therefore I would not search for further books from this author or this series...
