Published as a 'shilling shocker', Robert Louis Stevenson's dark psychological fantasy gave birth to the idea of the split personality. The story of respectable Dr Jekyll's strange association with 'damnable young man' Edward Hyde; the hunt through fog-bound London for a killer; and the final revelation of Hyde's true identity is a chilling exploration of humanity's basest capacity for evil.

Well, thanks so much for sending me this one, I'm going through the 1001 list and I'll cross it out of my list as soon as I read it. It'll travel then to another 1001 list reader :D It was a very nice surprise :D

It's hard not to know this story before reading it. I've seen in on TV more than once so I was familiar with the story. But I liked it though, the written version is always more interesting. Thank you zimort for sharing this book with me

Thanks Nakipa, I look forward to reading this. I have seen it in films and am sure I have read it in the past, but I think that might have been a children's version. So it will be good to read the original.
