Journal Entry 1 by winglunaciawing from Fredrikstad, Østfold fylke Norway on Monday, August 16, 2010
There is a distinct hint of Armageddon in the air. According to The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch (recorded, thankfully, in 1655, before she blew up her entire village and all its inhabitants, who had gathered to watch her burn), the world will end on a Saturday. Next Saturday, in fact. So the armies of Good and Evil are amassing, the Four Bikers of the Apocalypse are revving up their mighty hogs and hitting the road, and the world's last two remaining witch-finders are getting ready to fight the good fight, armed with awkwardly antiquated instructions and stick pins. Atlantis is rising, frogs are falling, tempers are flaring. . . . Right. Everything appears to be going according to Divine Plan.

Except that a somewhat fussy angel and a fast-living demon -- each of whom has lived among Earth's mortals for many millennia and has grown rather fond of the lifestyle -- are not particularly looking forward to the coming Rapture. If Crowley and Aziraphale are going to stop it from happening, they've got to find and kill the Antichrist (which is a shame, as he's a really nice kid). There's just one glitch: someone seems to have misplaced him. . . .

Absolutely, amazingly good book. These two writers must have a magic pen, not to speak of their minds! It's a very funny book, but i am more impressed by the big wisdom they manage to put into such simple terms, and the values and ethics the novel posesses. The authours seperates the human being from religion and gives it a unike and independent value. Half heaven, half hell, all human.
I want more of this!

I'll PM Grønnlivsstil for his/hers address.

A fun romp towards the end of the world. I enjoyed the four horsemen of the Apocalypse the best (especially Famine), and Crowley and Aziraphale. I found the rather long dialogues between the four children rather dull at times (and unrealistic for children of 11) and didn't enjoy how some of the characters spoke in "dialect".

Thanks for including me on the ring lunacia, and to everyone for posting it on.

Here it is :) I'm really looking forward to read this book - Gaiman is always enjoyable, and I'm curious about Terry Pratchet too.

And here's the result of opening this BC package: I've dreamed of Neil Gaiman all night long. Who would have known that he would came to my unexistant family hotel undercover, just after 8pm? It's a shame it was only in dreamland or else this book would follow on with an autograph :) (I really need to go back on sleeping pills...)

Journal Entry 23 by Libera13 at Vila Nova da Barquinha, Santarém Portugal on Monday, May 16, 2011
Done!
I really loved this book! It's absolutely hilarious (in a sarcastic way that I always enjoy), but still dark as characteristical of Gaiman, and actually quite interesting in a religious/philosophical perspective (that whole ideia that the Devil mustn't be credited for human actions and the "Learn, guys" tip from Crowley to Hell... brilliant). It was great fun to learn that the bits I enjoyed the most were presumably written by Gaiman (except for the details of the death of Agnes Nutter, which apparently was Pratchett's idea). Anathema, Crowley and the 4 Horsemen (yeah) were my favourite characters, and I think Adam wasn't very realistic for a 11y.o. (even if an 11 y.o. which is actually the Antichrist), but I think that - and the fact Armageddon ended with a blink - are the only major flaws. There's just too much to say about this book, really. A proper review could never be done by me because I'd always come back and add extra details as I went on remembering...

I'm just sad that I read it so quickly, though. I wouldn't stop reading until I reached the end and there's no more of it left now :(
PMing silvia-pco to pass the book on. Thanks for including me in this, Lunacia, and everyone for guaranteeing that it had a safe travel so far ;) Let us hope it doesn't end up dropped on a bathtub or put together with yellow duct tape like the other copies the author mentioned :o)

Journal Entry 26 by silvia-pco at Murtosa, Aveiro Portugal on Saturday, October 8, 2011
First of all, I'm sorry it took me so long to get to this book.

I absolutely loved it. It is such a wonderful book in so many ways! So funny, and so clever... I can't start to imagine how difficult it may be to write a book in collaboration with someone else, but both authors surely did a heck of a job.

The whole story is delightful, very entertaining, but, most importantly, it makes you think. It really puts a point across about ethics and the wrongdoings of mankind while maintaining a "light" side. The characters are so well thought; I loved how Aziraphale and Crowley often showed some habits more characteristic of the "other side" rather than of their own (angel/demon). The Four Horsemen are also very cleverly put together. And the occasional references to Queen were hilarious! (Even with me being a fan of them).

This just might be my favourite read of the year so far, and it's one of those books that I probably wouldn't come across if it wasn't for BookCrossing, and so I have to thank lunacia for sharing this little gem. :)

The book's already on its way to Italy. Enjoy!

A fun read. I took a few pages to get into it, but then I read fast, a sign of how much I enjoyed it. My favourite characters were Crowley and Aziraphale. I would like to see this book as a movie; in fact I would like to see a television series with the mismatched partnership of the angel and demon. Could be fun.
I discussed this book with my mother and she is going to have a read to see if she likes it and then I will post it on. (Photograph: Book on way to my mother, Needle-n-Thread, on this rainy day.)

This is quite enjoyable! NOW I know why my cassettes are not the same music they were three days ago!! Very funny! I just found out that Coraline and Stardust were also written by Neil Gaiman.
I am halfway through Friday and megami-no-ushi has already "read" this book via an audiotape while travelling to Vermont last year, so I will be contacting Erishkigal next. Thank you for sharing this wonderful story with me!

Journal Entry 42 by wingherchellewing at Calgary, Alberta Canada on Saturday, March 10, 2012
Now that was an interesting book! I also liked all the different characters, and I know some of these story people will stay with me... Oh, like every time I pull a cassette tape out of my car glove box* I will have a feeling that Freddy Mercury will sing out his greatest hits. The four horsemen were pretty cool as well--I like War, funny that that horseman was a horsewoman! Thank you to everyone who has read this book before me, I am indeed honored to be amongst this host.
Okay...I did have to look up INEFFABLE!
Erishkigal is next in line.

Yay~~I was very happy to find this in my mailbox! Interesting timing~~we are in our last week of Arthur Miller's "The Crucible" (such a great play, and this production truly does it justice!). I'm excited to read this, though I shall likely not start till the weekend, as I'm only about halfway through my current read.

Thanks for sending this out to share, lunacia, and for sending it to me herchelle. Thanks also, h, for the postcard of the Calgary skyline~~lol~ the Saddledome really does look like an English saddle. And BNL~~ they were awesome, of course! Talented, fun, and Brilliant! Wendover is a two-hour drive, and my daughter, grandaughter, and I went, as we are all big fans (sil tagged along, too, and was surprised at how much he enjoyed them). I giggled my way through Good Omens, with giggles punctuated by periodic burst of outright laughter. I have been a Gaiman fan, only read one Pratchett, over a decade ago, didn't get into it, and never tried another. I most certainly will now :)
Thank you for sharing!!!

Looks like the book took little time to arrive here.
I just started reading another bookring book, and it is not a fast read, so I will start on this as soon as I can.

6/13: start reading
7/15: half way through. Sorry I usually read books much faster than this but I have to cram for an exam so most of my reading is exam-related, except for the audio books I listen to while driving. Also all that characters make it a slower read. But from next week on it should go a bit faster.
7/20: home stretch! Less than 100 pages to go! Will pm next person. Should be able to mail it out next week.

Journal Entry 46 by wingAzukiwing at Miami, Florida USA on Tuesday, July 24, 2012
Sorry I had the book for so long, but I was studying for an exam so I didn't spend much time reading much for leisure.

I found the beginning rather confusing, as many characters were introduced. Part of it was my fault too that I only get to read a few pages every few days, so it was hard to remember all that was going on. However, toward the end I did enjoy it a lot. Rather creative and fun.

kiyoteefoxx got her own copy, Shroffland is overwhelmed w books, izzy5000 is travelling in India. I've pm'ed easterngirl71, the last reader on the list.

8/8: have not heard fm easterngirl71. Will pm again.
