Mort

Read & Listened to Audiobook in August, 2004.
This is my second helping of Terry Prattchet's DiscWorld. Last summer, I read Equal Rites, which was about a female wizard in a manly world. There are quite a few Discworld novels; I don't know if others in the series must be read in order or not, but these two particular novels stand alone just fine.
Anyway, this is the story of the "ANTHROPOMORPHIC PERSONIFICATION" of Death, who takes on young Mort as an apprentice...but with a hidden agenda. We learn a bit about more how the Disc universe works, while Mort has some adventures with Death's adopted daughter, Ysabell. Death himself ends up trying on life on the human side of things, and finds happiness as a short-order cook -- since Time doesn't matter to him, so he's quite good at it.
Terry Pratchett has a very dry, British wit, which can be very funny if you like that sort of thing. I was glad I both listened to this and read it both, as listening to it actually helped me realize when I was supposed to laugh, and reading it in print helped me visualize the world better.

Since she likes fantasy novels, I gave this to 33shadow at today's Shadowrun game.
Given to me by choclaholic. :)
Great book! I read in one sitting, and it kept me laughing! There were also a few serious parts to balance out the fun. All in all a great book!
Reserving for Jamileigh17. :)
